the act of transferring colored foil onto paper for a foiled effect.
We are officially a part of Spare Time! We started the kick-off with creating and foiling greeting cards. This “maker session” attracted IBMers from different backgrounds: designers, engineers, and testers.
Although not everyone had the “creative thumb”, they all throughly enjoyed the activity, even personalizing the greeting cards with special messages.
This session was quite simple. Our makers chose a pre-made greeting card and their favorite colored foil. They then cut the foil according to area of the card that they wanted covered. The foil was then placed (shiny side up) on the area of the greeting card, sandwiched between a carrier paper and fed through the foiling machine. The results were amazingly beautiful!
