On May 22nd IBMers in Austin gathered to create simple circuits connecting a switch, LED, and battery. Then they carefully constructed a display around their electronics, creating lamps! Together, we learned about voltage and how to limit the amount of power traveling to an LED. We learned about parallel vs series and what that means for circuits. We learned how to solder with help from the magnificent Kelly Lohr and Dallas, even learned how to melt plastic with a battery. Lastly, we had fun with hot glue, cardboard, and paper as we crafted our glorious lamps. Thanks for coming out Austin, keep on lighting!
